Mary Yerke Mesick

Teaching all ages, with a focus on K-12.

We teach and coach: 

  • piano, voice, theory, recorder, ukulele, small percussion
  • performance techniques
  • musical and theatrical audition preparation

We coordinate annual performance recitals and
produce student workshops

Mary Mesick has worked in the music field for over 25 years. Her professional journey, capitalizing on a background in business, has taken her from her roots of vocal music, into the areas of education, choral conducting, liturgical music ministry, event planning, and marketing. She holds a degree in vocal performance and credentials in music ministry and choral directing.

Background in The Performing Arts, and Music:

Theatre:  Studied under Lorene Tuttle, Rick Walters, Dick Bellamy, Dr. David Scott

     Performed in many stage performances, plays, musicals, and variety shows of varied genre

Piano and Voice:  Studied piano from an early age with voice as the instrument of focus 

     Studied voice under Wilda Bernard (Master Teacher), Diane Sells, Larry Jarvis, John Paton

Choral:  Choral performances under Maestro Paul Salamunovich, James Stemen, Lesley Leighton, Boris Brott                               

     Numerous concerts were with a symphony orchestra

Percussion: Studied the “djembe” with Ted Benedict, a musician who played at Carnegie Hall, and with Duke Ellington.

Teaching:  Music specialist for general music in both public and private schools systems                             

     Self-employed teaching private, and small group lessons

Choral director/conductor: Directing choirs of all ages with up to 100 members 

     Directed choirs with orchestra as well as band instrumentation including two events at the Anaheim Convention Center with 15k attendees

Business:  Business administrator as studio, enrollment, and marketing director for established Music Academy
